(Story written in May 2007)
Miles started “school” on May 1st. How exciting! When I pick him up, there is always paint on his shirt and a big smile. They call it “school” because the teachers are always doing art projects, story time, or sing alongs with the babies. Yeah, Miles is only 5 1/2 months old and he is already a little Picasso! This last week, Miles picked up a nasty virus at the school. Jason and I stayed up countless hours at night trying to console him and trying to get him to eat anything. Poor thing, he was so tired and lethargic. He barely smiled. Jason and I were worried sick.
Jason and I called our moms for support and advice. What did our mommies do when we were sick? Did they also stay up at night with us rocking us back to sleep, kissing our foreheads and singing us a lullaby? Jason and I have learned a lot this last week…
You will never know how much you love your parents and appreciate them and know how much you were loved by them until you become a parent yourself. Honest to goodness. With this, I say, “Happy Mother’s Day” to all the mommies I know.

That’s sweet. And TRUE!
